Social Networking is an inevitable part of our lives these days, with no doubt that it gives us a chance to stay connected with our friends and relatives . Besides, there are so many strangers who connect through umpteen number of networking sites, might end up falling in love and then happily married ever after (probably in rarest of the rare cases).
Amongst the youth, the notion of falling in love is so common these days. Be it a male or a female, both sexes long for a beloved in their life. Here is an incident to let you know how these sites might destroy or save our lives.
He was a guy with so much diligence and enough busy in life. A self-made personality, quite handsome, having vast knowledge. an outlier and an ardent reader, he was very much talkative; albeit possessing a serenity on his innocent face.
And, there was this girl with a besotting smile, which almost reached the depths of her beautiful eyes. Always a bit nervous and restless, emotions meant the life for her. A passionate writer and an avid lover of literature, she was an aspiring journalist; forever ready to explore, travel and introspect. Moreover, since childhood she understood how significant struggle is in one's life.
A sudden encounter led them into each other's Facebook's friend's list. Nevertheless, both of them hardly talked, as they were indeed busy with their own lives.
Scrolling down his Facebook wall one day, she got his contact number; and there she was silently stalking him on what's app (another medium to connect with people). Keeping an eye on his status updates and display pictures, she was always willing to know him more. However, the sole irony behind was that she fell for the calmness and tranquility on his face, the innocence in his smile and the spark in his eyes.
One fine day, somehow they connected on what's app. Human psychology might support the fact that people are more active on what's app rather than on Facebook. This happened with both of them as well. They started having long chit-chats about the life around them. Days passed, but they seldom had time to know each other well. She always kept on putting efforts to know more about him. They even shared some of their secrets with each other, maintaining the only relationship between themselves called "Trust". This is what they both believed.
Everything was fine until the day she got a text which said something like- "I don't find anything new in our conversation, so want to devote less energy." She didn't respond. The things they mostly used to talk about were the current affairs, social issues, love, sex, citizen's rights and many other significant topics. Nevertheless, that text made her think a lot. She didn't feel insulted or anything like that, instead she just started introspecting. The question raised in her mind was- "What am I doing? Why is he worthy enough? Should I maintain any relation with him?
Their relation had no name (as it has to be, according to our so-called traditional society). Threads of political chit- chat, discussions over news stories, and debates were the only things holding them together. But where was this relationship heading to? None of them had an answer. The only way to understand it might be this sentence which he once told her, "there is nothing called love, we just look for our comfort zone"; to which she definitely agreed. It was clear that none of them were in love, may be well-wishers was the right word which connected their intellects.
Perhaps, they were perfectly fitting into each other's comfort zone. But, what tag did their relation hold was the question which indeed needed to be answered. Anyway, the bitterness suggests that they were just Neither Friends, Nor Strangers.
