We are living in a huge macro universe today and hardly get time to look around, to know about the on-goings that are surrounding us every moment. We are so lost in a race to be the first rank holder that there is no time to seek within. Now a days it has become so difficult to stop, and think for a moment; to think where we are heading, what we are doing, whom we are with, why we are heading towards a path and most importantly, how we are living our lives.
While we are busy howling around our heads in order to become the most luxuriant one, there are many people who are working hard day and night so as to take some crucial steps towards the development of the country. The World Radio Day celebrated on February 13, 2014 was an example of the same. The event was organized by Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication at the India International Center. Students from all over the country participated in the "short video competition on community radio" and were awarded with the trophies, certificates and some money as well.
The three minute videos were so heart touching and inspiring that no one in the hall could take their eyes off (that's my perception by the way). Those who created these videos undoubtedly deserved the award.
It feels so good to see that the young minds in our country are so thoughtful and are taking such positive steps; coming out with something constructive in an era where the country has been indulged into corruption. It is indeed unfortunate that a country with such amount of huge talent is still struggling to come into the category of developed countries.
Nevertheless, the event was something of which I was not aware earlier. Likewise, there might be many people who wouldn't know about the concept of Community Radio- something which strides ahead to connect with various communities and make them aware about all that they need to know. But why is it that only few people know about it? And certainly there are many other things in the world of which many are not aware.
Perhaps, the world is so gigantic that no one can realize what is going on at the other side.
